2026-2027 TIDE SWIM TEAM FEES
GENERAL INFORMATION
- Tide Swimming is a year round swim team. Parents are required to agree to an 11-month swimmer contract with an annual fee based on their swimmer's practice group. Rec League and Senior Bronze are offered in sessions, without an annual contract.
- Swimmers in the Developmental Silver, Developmental Gold, and Age Group Bronze practice groups can resign with 60 days notice if they decide they do not wish to continue swimming.
- Swimmers who move away from the Hampton Roads area during the season are released from their contracts effective with their move dates. Family service hours obligation is prorated.
- Most parents with swimmers in year round groups have a volunteer (service) hours obligation. The service hours obligation is PER FAMILY and is based on the highest level swimmer. The only groups that DO NOT have service hours obligations are Developmental Silver, Rec League, and Senior Bronze.
- Swimmers who choose to participate in meets will be invoiced for their meet fees, explained HERE.
- All swimmers who train in YMCA pools are required to be members of the YMCA of South Hampton Roads. Swimmers who train exclusively at Norfolk Academy or Chesapeake Golf Club do not have to be members of the YMCA.
- USA Swimming membership is required of all swimmers. Parents will be directed to USA Swimming to pay for their swimmers' memberships after September 1. Parents of returning swimmers can easily renew their swimmers' USA Swimming memberships through their USA Swimming accounts.
2026 USA Swimming Athlete Registration Fees
Premium athlete membership $88.00
Flex athlete membership* (12&under only) $30.00
*a USA Swimming Flex membership will only allow an athlete to enter up to TWO USA Swimming sanctioned competitions. Participation in more than two regular season competitions or a championship meet will require an upgrade to a Premium membership for an additional fee of $58.00.

Two swimmers in family, both training at CGC $90 per month
One swimmer training at a YMCA, one or more training at CGC $30 per month

YMCA Membership Fees
All members of Tide Swimming who train in YMCA pools must also be members of the YMCA of South Hampton Roads.
Find out more about the current YMCA of South Hampton Roads membership fee schedule. The YMCA of South Hampton Roads waives the joining fee once per member for Tide swimmers. If a swimmer cancels their YMCA membership and then rejoins months or years later, a joining fee will be assessed.
Members may use any of the YMCA facilities in South Hampton Roads. Tide swimmers are encouraged to join at the facility in which they will practice.
Swimmers 13 and older may get individual memberships. Swimmers 12 and younger must be part of an adult +1 or a family membership. They cannot get individual memberships.
Current YMCA monthly membership fees are $63 (individual), $78 (adult +1), and $93 (family).
