Financial Aid

Grants

Through its Open Doors program, the YMCA of South Hampton Roads offers financial assistance to families in need. There is an application process for subsidies to help pay for YMCA membership. More information is available here.

TIDE Swimming extends grants to families who qualify for the YMCA's Open Doors program by matching the percentage discount the family receives on their YMCA membership dues. An Open Doors swimmer's monthly swimming dues installment payments will be reduced by the same percentage discount that the YMCA uses to reduce the cost of the family or swimmer's YMCA membership. Registration fees are not discounted.
