What is your first swimming memory?
I started swimming summer league for Carolanne Farms at 8 but went to Little Neck for some time as well. It was pretty fun, since I was with all my friends from soccer and it got me to join a club team. All I remember was getting DQ'd every meet in the 25 fly. Now look where I am. 200 fly. Thanks, Richard.
What has been your favorite moment on TIDE?
ISCA 2019: I feel like our team was the closest it's ever been at that point and the energy was so exciting. It was really fun to be a part of the scoring athletes to contribute to our team.
What are your plans for Fall 2020 and beyond?
I will be attending Emory University and will be a member of their swim & dive team. As of now I would like to have a pre-med major so I can become a physician's assistant. I am also considering a minor in business. I would love to travel but I don't know how my life will play out in the future.
Love to win OR Hate to lose?
Love to win even though it doesn't happen often.
What advice you would give to younger TIDE teammates?
It sounds cliché, but remember all the fun moments you have now. When times get tough, it's important to think back on those times and why you are continuing to push through. The time honestly does fly by, and I wouldn't want to trade the memories and friendships I've made for the world. The people I've met along the way have shaped who I am, how I think, and what my future will be like. You all are the next generation of swimmers, and I can't wait to see what your future holds.
Best advice you have received from TIDE teammate or coach?
"Open your present every day"
What will you miss the most about TIDE?
Definitely all the friendships I've made during the past 5 years. Whether I met them when I first came or just this year, all of my tide swimmies have a special place in my heart that I'll take with me to Emory.
