What is your first swimming memory?
I was 6 and swimming for a Rec center in the winter. We had a relay and I was so excited, but I dove in the water when the other kid touched the other wall. So we were both swimming at the same time. Didn't make that mistake again.
What has been your favorite moment on TIDE?
My favorite moment was my first time going to the Cary Meet. It was my first team travel meet ever and it was fun to have some independence. Going to Target and buying unhealthy things before Richard was my coach was also fun.
What are your plans for Fall 2020 and beyond?
I'm planning on attending Washington University in St. Louis and swimming there. I'm hoping to graduate and go on to medical school after swimming all 4 years.

Best advice from a coach or swimmer?
"The clock doesn't care if you are tired" – Coach Sandra
Best advice to give younger swimmers?
Love to be competitive and have fun. When I was younger I was so worried about other kids who were faster and it doesn't matter. Learning to love swimming and not doing too much when you're younger is really important. Also if you practice with good technique and underwaters it is so helpful rather than having to worry about it as a senior.
